What a gift my youngest friend is to my life. Tonight was dinner and hours of conversation with a run to the grocery store in the mix. She inspires me in so many ways and her journaling is just one. This weekend she went to the Denver Art Museum with her art teacher from high school last year and found herself encouraged. In her artistic and beautiful journal she wrote the words she found in the fusion of art and word. Not her own words, but those of the artist, none the less inspiring. "your gnarled branches always withstand thunder and storm you wake up when spring touches the soil. Who dares to challenge the enduring strength f your generation? You remain green and vibrant through drought and quake." And the second on a piece that was set to portray rural China just before the Japanese invasion. "When I thought about this illusion (peaceful image:happy life) again, I tried to trace it with my paint brush. Alas! How could peace be hoped for? If I rely on my paintbrush could achieve this purpose. but, I regret that drawing a pancake will not satisfy a hungry stomach."
